Transformers (2007) Movie Review

I watched the movie, Transformers a month back at home. As an avid lover and practitioner of drama there were various points in the movie that kept me hooked on. The plot is straight and simple. Sam Whitwicky, a teenager buys a used car (the iconic Chevy Camaro!) and realizes that it is actually an alien robot. Bumblebee, the alien robot is not the only alien in town. There is Optimus Prime and a fellow group of transforming robots known as Autobots who have come to earth in search of a cube called Allspark that grants life to mechanical objects. As the story unfolds, it is seen that the Decepticons, another alien robot race from planet Cybertron are also in search of the Allspark to release their leader Megatron and destroy humans. The Autobots under the courageous leadership of Optimus Prime and his heroic fellow Autobots, notably Bumblebee along with Sam Whitwicky and his aides such as his girlfriend Mikaela and US defence personnel fight to attain Allspark before Megatron and other Decepticons do and save mankind.  From a sheer artistic plane of view, I appreciated the technical aspects of the movie such as the special effects, the attention to detail in the transformations, the racy screenplay and the expert blend of loads of action, moderate romance and a tasteful pinch of comedy. From an expressive plane of view, I could empathize with the emotions of Sam and Bumblebee. One such is the line when Megatron asks Sam in the climax
